Beginner’s Glass Appliqué
(basic glass cutting class in disguise): $89 per person. Transform your glass topped patio table using the same tools and skills you would use to make a stained glass window. It’s just glue and grout rather than lead. In 3 hours you will make your own 5-piece, 4 inch “mini-tabletop” which you can take home and use as a coaster. And you will have basic glass cutting skills. Instruction booklet, all supplies and tool use are included in the class fee. Bring your own eye protection or wear our goggles.

Soldering
After you can confidently cut glass: $35/hour/per person. Bring in your cut pieces and we’ll go over how to solder them together with either copper foil or lead came. We’ll also discuss patinas and other finishing details. Usually 2 to 3 hours depending on project. Use of soldering iron, copper foil, lead came, flux, and solder included for a small project (around 6”). Excess materials will be charged at cost.

Tacky Fusing (not a beginner’s class)
Intermediate level fusers who have their own kiln (or access and control of one): $35/person, $70 minimum. Controlling texture gives a whole new dimension to your work! Go beyond simply using the pre-programmed tack or fuse on your kiln. This is 2 to 3 hour discussion of what happens at what temperature as glass softens in the kiln and how you can work with this and/or avoid problems caused by this. We end with an optional practice programming of my kiln. The sample set is $100 but we encourage you to make your own instead.

All classes are held at Seymour Stained Glass Studio, 5415 Greenwood Ave. N, Seattle, Washington, 98103 (by appointment only). Please call to schedule 206-525-1577
