Morning Dance

This is a bathroom door by reflected light (L) and transmitted (R).

For those not able to conceive of such exuberance in the morning, pretend it is sunset.
The orange iridescence of the sky and water don't photograph well but you get the idea.

The posture of the bird was inspired by a painting of a "Reddish Egret" by Robert Gillmore in The Herons Handbook by James Hancock and Peter Hayman (a beautiful book but unfortunately out of print). Yes, I know gray herons don't usually dance like this but I have seen one stalking along in a similar posture during a low tide on Puget Sound.
